Apart from containerizing myself with work --", I managed to break away for 2 weeks to do some shopping and have an opening experience in city side of Johor Bahru else well as rural side of it at Kampong Pontian. I am seriously crappy at organising trips so the ample of trips made there were initiated by my boyfriend and brother. Nonetheless, I still got out of here. so yeah. Next year, its either Taiwan or Redang. We'll see if time permits me to go there. This are some shots I've got.
PONTIAN KAMPONG

The Pontian malay villagers lived in this sort of environment.Who would have thought people would still live in stilt houses? The condition in those houses were deteriorating. Some could not even afford to buy proper beds for their own. They slept on 'used' mattresses of other people. I don't think the thought of 'bed bugs' came to their heads initially when people donated those items to them. They accepted them sincerely. OH MY GOSH!!! Do not get me started with the SIZE of the flies. I could like literally see the parts of the fly. OH YES! They kinda have like red eyes going on for them....YUP! The flies seemed happy there. My auntie had her insect repellent in her hands throughout the entire trip. That was not much of a help at all.Anyway, on a good note, the folks were welcoming. Their food are all super organic. You cannot get anymore organic than eating fresh caught STINGRAYS from the sea just at the back of their homes and EGGS laid from their mummy hens.OH OH OH!Their rambutans!! sweetest ones I tasted by far. SHOOTS. Our fresh coconut drinks here aren't the freshest. Pontian has the best coconuts ever. I can drink and eat the filling and still come back for more. It was an enriching experience for me. I am glad I did not backed out on the trip. however, being a Singaporean that I am, I cannot forsee myself staying there even for a day. *TOILET ISSUE* get the drift? lol. I need a bed and comforter on me each night. So, yeah! Im spoilt. lol
